چکیده
Abstract Background This prospective longitudinal study examined and compared two measures (prospective retrospective ones) of post-traumatic growth (PTG) following Hematopoietic Stem-Cell Transplantation (HSCT) their respective relationships with mental health psychological disposition. We also tested the hypothesis that unwillingness to be in contact distressing thoughts feelings—i.e. experiential avoidance—would moderate relationship between Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) growth. Methods was carried out 187 patients. Patients completed Growth Inventory (PTGI) 5 months after HSCT scales tapping into five domains PTGI during hospitalisation HSCT. Mental disposition were assessed prior hospitalisation. A PTSD scale administered at five-month follow-up. Results Prospective PTG weakly correlated. Bayesian pre/post-HSCT comparisons measure revealed substantial very strong decline four dimensions assessed. Overall, RCI indicated a reliable increase for 5.6% patients decrease 40.8% Confirming reflect different processes, they not related same variables. Moreover, acquiring positive outcomes from potentially traumatic experience, such as HSCT, requires direct confrontation source distress supported case but Conclusions Retrospective do appear assess actual pre- post-HSCT change. seems more linked than

Pediatric Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation
The introduction and evolution of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) could be traced back to 1950s, to the studies on interactions among irradiation, covering spleen and bone marrow from it and injection of bone marrow cells. Today, HSCT is considered a well-established, effective and promising means of therapy for various malignant and non-malignant medical conditions, both in chil...
متن کاملPost-Traumatic Stress Symptoms and Post-Traumatic Growth: Evidence from a Longitudinal Study following an Earthquake Disaster
OBJECTIVE The current longitudinal study aims to examine the bidirectional relationship between post-traumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) and post-traumatic growth (PTG). METHOD One hundred twenty-two adults in the most severely affected area were investigated by self-report questionnaires at 12 months and 18 months after the Wenchuan Earthquake occurred in China. RESULTS The autoregressive cro...
متن کاملHematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation for Thalassemia
Thalassemia is an autosomal recessive disorder associated with defective synthesis of the α- or β-chain of hemoglobin. For β-thalassemia major patients, therapeutic options are either monthly red cell transfusions and chelation therapy or allogeneic stem cell transplant. Stem cell transplant is the only curative approach and success is inversely correlated with the degree of iron overload and h...

متن کاملAssessment of Cyclosporine Serum Concentrations on the Incidence of Acute Graft versus Host Disease Post Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation
Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is a curative treatment option for hematological disorders. Cyclosporine (CsA) is one of the major immunosuppressive agents for the prophylaxis against graft versus host disease (GvHD). In this retrospective study, we evaluated the effects of CsA serum levels on the incidence of acute GvHD and transplant outcomes. 103 adult patients rece...
